Laguna Beach & the Popularity of California Impressionism

CULTURE, CREATIVITY, ART, HERITAGE, INSPIRATION, PLEIN AIR

Take ride along Cliff Drive on a warm summer day and you’re sure to see at least one, if not several, Plein Air artists lost in Laguna’s natural beauty. Artists like Erin Hanson, whose California Eucalyptus painting embodies the sort of art that has become a signature for Laguna Beach due in large part to the globally inspiring works of Laguna Beach artists. Artists such as William Wendt, Anna Hills, and the “Dean of Laguna Artists,” Frank Cuprien, who was so dedicated to our artistic heritage that he left his entire estate to the Laguna Beach Art Association.
